Hughes, Howard
(1905-76) a US businessman, aircraft designer, pilot, and film ↑producer, famous for being very rich but also for being very unwilling to spend money. He was a ↑recluse (=someone who lives on their own and does not want to see other people) for the last 26 years of his life.
